KwaiSaver — Kwai & SnackVideo Downloader · Effective August 9, 2026
KwaiSaver ("the extension") is a browser extension for Google Chrome that adds a Save button to videos on kwai.com and snackvideo.com, so you can keep a clip as an MP4 file. This policy explains what information the extension does — and, more importantly, does not — handle.
None. The extension does not collect, transmit, store remotely, sell or share any personal information or browsing data. Specifically, we do not collect:
The extension has no server. There is nowhere for your data to be sent.
The extension stores only your own settings:
chrome.storage.local) on your computer. The extension reads the video information the Kwai page has already loaded — the same data the player uses — and hands the video address to Chrome’s own download manager. Chrome then fetches the file directly from Kwai to your disk. There is no intermediary: no KwaiSaver website, no conversion server, and no third party that ever sees the video or the fact that you saved it. Uninstalling the extension removes its settings.
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
Access to Kwai and SnackVideo websites (host permissions) | Required to read which video you are viewing and which quality files the page offers. The extension runs only on kwai.com and snackvideo.com — it reads nothing anywhere else. |
downloads | Saves the chosen video through Chrome’s normal download manager, with a sanitized file name. |
storage | Saves your preferences described in section 3. |
The extension uses no third-party services, analytics providers, advertising networks or remote APIs. All of its code is bundled inside the extension and runs entirely on your device. The only network activity it causes is Chrome downloading the video from Kwai’s own content servers — the same servers the page streams from.
Kwai lets creators turn downloading off for their videos. KwaiSaver reads that setting and refuses to save those clips, telling you why, rather than working around a creator’s choice. The extension saves the original file the page plays and adds nothing to it — if a creator burned a watermark into their own footage before uploading, that is part of the video itself and no tool can remove it. Please save clips for your own offline watching, respect creators’ rights and the law of your jurisdiction, and credit creators if you share their work.
Because the extension collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.
If a future version of the extension ever changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated and the "Effective" date above revised before that version is released. Material changes will be noted in the extension’s store listing changelog.
